Yung Lean's New Single "Forever Yung" Marks a New Chapter

 



Swedish rapper Yung Lean has returned to the music scene with a bang, dropping his latest single “Forever Yung” from his upcoming album, Jonatan. This track not only celebrates his 13-year career but also signifies a new chapter for the enigmatic artist.

The music video for “Forever Yung,” directed by Aidan Zamiri, is a visual treat that features Yung Lean’s real friends, family, and fans. Shot in Budapest, the video includes over 100 fans who responded to a casting call last August. The video begins with Lean interacting with fans, gifting one his watch and lighting a cigarette for another. The scene then shifts to a poignant moment where Lean, seemingly deceased, is placed in a coffin, only to be seen alive again, closing the coffin and waving farewell to his fans.

The track itself is a blend of Indie Folk and Art Pop, showcasing Lean’s versatility and evolution as an artist. The title “Forever Yung” and the album’s name, Jonatan, which is a nod to his legal name Jonatan Leandoer, suggest a personal and introspective journey. This new single is a testament to Lean’s ability to reinvent himself while staying true to his roots.
